Stalled mid-renovation since 2020.
The Campanile at 14th & Peachtree is a stalled high-rise skeleton that narrows sidewalks, has raised concerns among neighboring businesses and residents about its impact on the surrounding corridor, and has gone years without resolution. It takes 30 seconds to demand answers from the officials responsible.
The Situation
According to reporting by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Urbanize Atlanta, Dewberry Group began renovating the Campanile in 2019 and halted construction in early 2020. That same reporting documents that the site has sat as a structural skeleton ever since — more than five years and counting — with a construction barrier surrounding it around the clock, narrowing sidewalks along a heavily trafficked pedestrian corridor. According to WSB-TV Channel 2, the Mayor's Office confirmed that building permits for the site expired in October 2025, and the Department of City Planning formally declared the property unsafe and issued an official stop work order in May 2026.
